Land Capability Assessments

A Land Capability Assessment is a report prepared by a qualified consultant that assesses the various aspects of a site and determines the capability of the land to sustain a wastewater system.

A Land Capability Assessment (LCA) is required for new dwellings that are located within Special Water Supply Catchment Areas (also referred to as ‘Open, Potable Water Supply Catchments’).  You may also be asked to supply a LCA if Council’s Environmental Health Officer identifies site specific constraints that may impact the environment.

Other service providers may be available to supply land capability assessment services and it is the applicant’s responsibility to select an appropriate service provider that is able to provide a quality land capability assessment.
