Lexton Flood Management Plan community drop in sessions

Find out more about the flood management plan and give your thoughts about flood management strategies for Lexton at a drop in session in June.

Jorja Strack (Project Engineer) and Ben Hughes (Principal Engineer) will be on site in Lexton along with Council officers.

Jorja, Ben and Council officers will there for Lexton locals to tell their stories of how the flood has impacted the town, so bring along copies of your photos and other documentation to share with them.

Investigations and flood mitigation

Council’s Asset Team will be conducting an investigation into the stormwater drainage system in Beaufort. The infrastructure that feeds water into the natural drainages will be assessed for improvements. Works will then be prioritised and be dependent on Council’s budget and seeking further funding. Grants available

Emergency Sporting Equipment Grant Program (Sport and Recreation Victoria)
Provides assistance to grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and organisatons to replace or repair essential sporting and first aid equipment that has been lost or destroyed as a consequence of fire, flood, significant storms, theft or criminal damage.
Amount: Up to $1000

Flood Recovery Plan

The Pyrenees Shire Flood Recovery Plan 2022(PDF, 1MB) (adopted by Council on 21 February 2022) has been developed to coordinate the flood recovery activities.

The Plan is broken up into two parts:

  1. a summary of the flooding events over October and November 2022, and
  2. the action plan.
