Vaccinated Economy Trial

We are supporting the Victorian Government to trial reopening businesses as a vaccinated economy.
The Avoca Hotel in our region will be trialing processes to verify the vaccination status of customers using the Service Victoria app, record keeping and providing feedback to the Victorian Government.
The participating businesses will be operating at settings aligned to the 70 per cent double dose threshold, based on Victoria’s roadmap.
This means they will be able to welcome more patrons if they can confirm all people on site are fully vaccinated.
Patrons can prove they are fully vaccinated using the Service Victoria app, a COVID 19 digital certificate displayed on a smartphone wallet, a printed version of their COVID 19 digital certificate or immunisation history statement or a medical exception from their GP.
The trial is underway, approximately two weeks before the state will reach 70 per cent double dose vaccination threshold, when significant parts of the economy will open only to the fully vaccinated.
Our Local Government Area was selected to be involved due to our high vaccination rates and low number of COVID 19 cases.
We thank the thousands of locals who’ve got vaccinated it’s our only way to move beyond the global pandemic.
This trial is important because we will all need to adapt as we move toward a vaccinated economy.
The trials are critical to help Victoria prepare to reopen.
It gives businesses, event organisers and local community organisations an opportunity to work with the Victorian Government to plan a smooth reopening.
The Victorian Government is providing training for business and will send support officers to venues to help them.
The trial sites are pubs, cafes, hairdressing salons and tourist attractions in Bass Coast Shire, Warrnambool, Buloke , Greater Bendigo, Pyrenees and East Gippsland.
