Not eligible for review
Not all circumstances are eligible for an internal review. These include, but are not limited to:
Fire Hazard Infringements
- Couldn’t engage a contractor;
- Was too busy;
- Forgot to comply with the Fire Prevention Notice;
- Machinery broke down;
- Wet weather;
- Don’t live at the property;
- Misread the Fire Prevention Notice; or
- The fire hazard was removed within a day or days of receiving the infringement notice.
Parking Infringements
- Didn’t see or misread a parking sign;
- New to the Pyrenees Shire or ignorance of a particular road rule;
- Delayed at an appointment;
- In a hurry or running late;
- Unable to find anywhere else to park;
- Parked for a very short time;
- Needed to use the toilet
- Needed to make a quick delivery;
- Didn’t clearly display a valid parking permit;
- Displayed an invalid or expired parking permit;
- Stopped to answer a mobile phone;
- Ran out of petrol or experienced vehicle issues that did not need repair or towing; or
- Was unaware of which vehicles can use Loading or Permit Zones;
Animal Infringements
- Forgot to register or renew an animal's registration;
- Did not receive, or could not recall receiving, an animal renewal notice;
- Was unaware that animal registration was required;
- The property was inadequately secured and the animal escaped;
- Was waiting to get the animal desexed before registering; or
- Believed that because an animal is registered with a microchipping company it is also registered with Council.
Planning Infringements
- Was unaware or misread the conditions on a planning permit;
- Illegal shipping containers were hidden from public view;
- Could not engage a professional to issue a certificate of compliance or to provide plans or advice;
- Didn’t understand the difference between planning and building requirements; or
- Forgot to register or lodge a certificate by the due date.
Pool and Spa Infringements
- Was not aware of the relevant Regulations; or
- Forgot to register or lodge a certificate by the required date.
