With a professional career spanning government, social policy, reform implementation and partnership development, Cr Megan Phelan wants to help build a supportive and enabling culture within Council and a commitment to delivering the priorities of Pyrenees residents.
Cr Phelan was first elected to Pyrenees Shire Council in October 2024. She is a Graduate Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds a Master of Social Sciences (Policy and Human Services) and a Diploma of Teaching.
Over the next four years, Cr Phelan wants to help bring to life the wealth of ideas, passion and energy in the community, harnessing these to help the region grow economically and sustainably. She also wants to see Council work harder to achieve the aspirations of the entire Pyrenees community through economic development and tourism, arts and culture, recreation, and infrastructure maintenance and development.
Cr Phelan has worked in the mental health and public health sectors, trade and investment, and international health and education.
